How did Australia end up with a tyrannical, political party corporate government that ignores the will of the people? Why can they ignore the Constitution, the Magna Carta, the English Bill of Rights 1689, the UN Charter on Human Rights, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights?

For as long as I can remember, we’ve all been taught the same story: Australia is an independent country, free from British rule, with its own Constitution and democratic government. But digging into this document, “Australia – The Concealed Colony,” feels like pulling back a curtain on a very different version of that story.

However, this article exposes the truth: Australia, still operates like a colony in important legal ways. When we became “independent’” a lot of the legal “plumbing” was never properly fixed. Old British laws were left in place, key changes to the Constitution were done the wrong way, and later laws that were meant to seal our independence may not actually do what people think they do.

What really grabbed me were the details. The paper points to things like how oaths of office changed, how official seals look, and even how the name of the country is written – “Commonwealth of Australia” versus “AUSTRALIA.” To most of us, those seem like tiny technicalities. To those aware of the laws, they confirm that governments are corporations or administrative machines, instead of the true constitutional governments grounded in the original rules. In other words, major changes were made to our Constitutional arrangements by the political parties without ever consulting with those who give Parliament its power: WE THE PEOPLE!

This realization prompted Sir Harry Talbot Gibbs, a High Court Judge, to state:

As a result, we now live under laws, pay taxes, go to court, and vote inside a system that has no clear, lawful foundation we assume. And the hardest part to swallow is the accusation that we were never really told this story – that schools, media, and official institutions simply carried on with the “independent nation” narrative and left the messy legal questions in the shadows.

It says that Australians need to wake up to how power is actually organised here, study the legal history for themselves, and decide whether they want to keep living with this hidden colonial hangover or demand a system that openly and unquestionably comes from the people.
